As the Internet and how people use their e-mail evolves, we have made system upgrades and changes to provide the best e-mail experience possible to you, our subscribers. Over time, we have been seeing an increase in the size of attachments people are sending through their e-mail. These larger messages have the potential to cause your mailbox to go over quota and may have prevented you from receiving new e-mail until you cleaned out your mailbox on our server.
To address these concerns, this evening between the hours of 9:00 – 10:00 PM CT, we will be increasing all of our subscriber's mailbox storage limits from the 30 MB default to a new default of 1 GB. This increase will lessen the possibility of running into quota limits. It is still good practice to access your e-mail on a regular basis and download messages locally to your computer by using a mail program like Outlook Express. If using Webmail, please periodically delete messages you do not plan on saving and empty the trash folder.
Those customers who currently are paying for additional mail storage space will no longer be charged for that space unless they had requested more than 1 GB of storage. If you currently pay for additional storage space, we will be contacting you directly to notify you of any billing changes.
Thank you for choosing to use BTInet as your ISP of choice for e-mail services. We look forward to continuing to provide the best possible level of service to our subscribers and thank you for your patronage.
