How do I configure my Actiontec 1520/1524 Gateway for wireless networking?

BTInet supports a single computer connected to the Internet and does not support the setup and configuration of your modem to support a network environment, wireless or non-wireless. The following information is offered to provide you directions in how to setup a network environment on your own. BTInet assumes no liability for the use of the following information and provides no warranties regarding the use or accuracy of the information conveyed.
- Open your Web browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, etc.)
- Type 192.168.0.1 (www is not required) in the address field
- Press Enter and the Actiontec modem configuration interface will appear
- Click Setup/Configuration
- Click Advanced Setup
- Click Begin Advanced Setup
- Click Wireless Settings in the left column
- Leave ESSID as ACTIONTEC
- Leave Channel as 1
- Change WEP (Wireless Encryption Protocol) to 64-bit
- Click Next
- Create a WEP key using any 10-digit combination of numbers (0 to 9) and letters (a through f). (e.g. ab cd ef 12 34 or 1a 2b 3c 4d 5e)
- Be sure to write down your selected WEP key as you will need it for the other computers you are networking.
- In the box next to Key 1 enter the WEP key you created
- Click Save and Restart in the left column
- On your DSL modem, the green light should be on for wireless
- Select Save and Restart in the center of the page
- You will need the following information to connect additional computers to your network
- ESSID - ACTIONTEC
- Channel - 9
- Security - 64 BIT WEP
- The WEP key you created
