How do I configure the 2Wire 2700 HG modem for wireless networking?

BTInet supports a single computer connected to the Internet and does not support the setup and configuration of your modem to support a network environment, wireless or non-wireless. The following information is offered to provide you directions in how to setup a network environment on your own. BTInet assumes no liability for the use of the following information and provides no warranties regarding the use or accuracy of the information conveyed.
- When you receive your 2Wire 2700 HG modem from Qwest, the wireless feature has already been enabled for you and requires no additional configuration.
- A default 64 BIT WEP Key is already configured for you by Qwest and is listed on a sticker underneath the modem. It is labeled as KEY [##########].
- You will need the following preconfigured information to connect additional computers to your network.
- ESSID - 2WIRE180
- Channel - 6
- Authentication - WEP-Open
- Encryption - The WEP Key from the bottom of the 2Wire 2700 HG modem.
- As long as you are at a computer directly connected to the 2Wire 2700 HG modem, you may access the 2Wire Gateway configuration home page by browsing to http://192.168.0.1. From here, you can make advanced configuration changes to your modem, such as changing the ESSID or Channel and selecting additional security features.
