How does Dial-Up compare with DSL?

How do I connect...

If you are using an External DSL Modem, after the initial connection, you will remain connected.

If you are using an Internal DSL Modem, connection is similar to the process used with a Dial-Up connection.

Requires you to have your modem dial into a computer at your ISP.

What kind of speed can I
expect?

Various packages are available with speeds ranging from 256k/256k to 1.5Mb/896k.

Speeds are "up to" - Actual speeds may vary based on line quality and network utilization.

Speeds are "up to" - Actual speeds may vary depending on phone line quality and customer's modem speeds.

Who or what can I connect
to?

Can connect to an ISP of your choice who offers DSL service. Can connect to any computer with a modem installed via existing telephone lines.

How long can I be connected?

Unlimited usage. Automatically disconnected if idle for more than 60 minutes. If active, unlimited usage.

How difficult is it to install or setup?

Our technicians can talk you through installing the software needed to connect to the Internet. The initial setup of your DSL should be completed before you install our software. As you go through the installation of our software, it will automatically configure your system to connect to the Internet.

Most of our customers can complete the process using our easy to read instruction manual.
