Ease of use...

Very easy to use, just install the Terminal Adaptor, connect it to the DSL phone line, setup the software, and then reboot your machine. Most PCs come with V.90 modem technology installed at the factory. Setup is as simple as installing the BTInet browser software, and then connecting to the Internet via your telephone line. Setup the modem, connect it to the Network card in your PC, connect the cable, setup the software, and reboot your machine.

Portability...

Not unless you are in the same location as your DSL line. Yes, you can dial in over any existing telephone line that your computer is connected to. No.

Speed...

Various packages are available with speeds ranging from 256k/256k to 3-5Mb/896k.

Speeds are "up to" - Actual speeds may vary based on line quality and network utilization.

56k (V.90) technology

Speeds are "up to" - Actual speeds may vary depending on phone line quality and customer's modem speeds.

Typically up to 1.5Mbps depending on traffic in your neighborhood.
