Cannot View Attachments

When opening an e-mail in Outlook Express 6, you may see the following message:

"Outlook Express removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your email: filename"

The following steps will restore access to these files; however, this will also disable the built-in virus protection capabilities of Outlook Express.

  1. In Outlook Express, click on Tools and select Options.
  2. Click on the Security Tab.
  3. Remove the check mark from "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus."
  4. Click Ok.
