What is Spam scoring and Bayesian Analysis?

Spam scoring is the rules based system (currently over 4,000 rules) that looks for certain characteristics in the e-mail message. The Spam scores are used to determine what to do with the e-mail; either to flag it as legitimate e-mail or as Spam.

Bayesian analysis also contributes to the Spam scoring by utilizing a learning engine that learns how to deal with future messages based on the ones you classify as Spam and Not Spam in the Quarantine Inbox. The learning engine becomes more effective over time as you teach the system how to classify messages and as you set up rules based on your whitelist and blacklist.
