What are Tag, Quarantine, and Block scores and how do I use them?
After logging into the Spam Filter, click the Preferences tab at the top of the page.
- Click the Spam Settings button.
- The Tag, Quarantine, and Block scores have been preset to default system values. If you wish to change these settings, under Spam Scoring change “Use System Defaults” from Yes to No and click the Save Changes button.
- You can now adjust the Tag, Quarantine, and Block scores based on the following descriptions for these items. Whichever score has the lowest value (most aggressive) will take precedence over the other two scores. This means if you have your Tag Score at 5, Quarantine Score at 2, and Block Score at 9 then the Quarantine Score will be the one the Filter will use first.

- Tag Score – Allows you to specify at which point the Filter will flag the message as Spam by adding the work SPAM or BULK to the beginning of the subject line of the e-mail. This option will still deliver the e-mail message to your mail program’s Inbox.
- Quarantine Score – Allows you to specify at which point the Filter will quarantine Spam e-mail in the Quarantine Inbox. NOTE: If you have changed the default “Quarantine Enable/Disable” value under the Quarantine Settings button, these messages will still come to your mail program’s Inbox with the word QUAR added to the beginning of the subject line.
- Block Score – Allows you to specify at which point the Filter will block Spam e-mail so that it does not come to your mail program’s Inbox or into the Quarantine Inbox. Please be aware that if you use this feature, any messages that are blocked can not be recovered.

Note: Your Whitelist and Blacklist entries will take precedence over the settings you have specified for the Tag, Quarantine, and Block Scores.
