BTInet Subscriber ZoneCall Smart

Article WNM008

I connect through a different ISP and cannot send e-mail through my BTInet mail account.

Server Settings

  • POP3: pop.btinet.net (case sensitive)
  • SMTP: mail.btinet.net (If you have a Domain with us, use smtp.btinet.net) (case sensitive)

Change Outgoing Server to Require Authentication.

  1. Open Windows Mail
  2. Click Tools
    Click Accounts
  3. Under the Mail section
    Highlight the btinet mail account
    Click Properties
  4. Click Servers tab
    Verify the following:
    1. My incoming mail server is a POP3 server
    • Incoming mail (POP3): pop.btinet.net (case sensitive)
    • Outgoing mail (SMTP): mail.btinet.net (case sensitive)
    • Account Name: full e-mail address (case sensitive)
    • Password: your password (case sensitive)
  5. Under the Outgoing Mail Server section near the bottom
    Place a check mark in the box in front of My Server Requires Authentication
    • Click the Settings button
    • Place a dot in front of Log on Using
    • Fill in
      • Account Name: full e-mail address (case sensitive)
      • Password: your password (case sensitive)
    • Click OK
    • Click OK
    • Click Close
