Broadband Services Optimization and Support

The following information may assist you in getting the best possible experience out of your BTInet Broadband services. Because of variables outside of our control (including your physical location, computer configuration, etc.), some of the steps listed may or may not improve the quality of your connection.

Unable to Connect or Browse

If you are currently unable to connect or browse using your DSL or Fixed Wireless Service the first thing you should try before contacting the help desk is to reboot your equipment. In most instances rebooting your equipment will resolve your connectivity issue.

Speed Test

We recommend conducting a speed test before continuing with any of the changes outlined on this page. Conducting this test now will allow you to better gauge if there is an improvement from the changes you make. Because this test is conducted over the Internet, you may want to run more than one test from different locations to get a more accurate idea of your connection speed over the Internet itself. After you have tried some of the steps on this site you may want to run the speed test again to see if there is a noticeable improvement.
